Android and iOS Device Activation's Soared on Holiday Weekend

Android and iOS device activation's have sky rocketed on the holiday weekend.

The activations jumped to 142% on Christmas day compared to last year.

Google has claimed to have sold 3.7 million new Android smartphones and tablets on Christmas day. Apple however didn't release any activation numbers.

Android and iOS combined sold 6.8 million smartphones and tablets on the holiday weekend. This surpassed last year's sales by 142%.

Android sales this month have been approximately 700 000 each day. Last year only 300 000 devices were sold each day.

Sales are expected to increase in the future as smartphones and tablets are becoming more popular each year.
