HP Keeps the PC Market

HP has decided to stay in the PC market.

Has HP made the right decision? I personally think the PC market is still alive. Other devices will not take over the PC market.

The PC will always have its place in the market. It just won't be at the top. But this is like anything, something new always comes around to stand in the spotlight.

I say, good move HP. We need a good brand to stay in the PC market.

Samsung Sells More Smartphones then Apple

Samsung has sold more Smartphones then Apple. Apple sold only 17.1 million smartphones compared to Samsung which sold 27.8 million.

Apple is taking a beating in the market recently. Their iPad first, and now their iPhone. Will Apple even be able to stay in the market for much longer?

Apple has started the market but everyone else in continuing it. It seems their only role was to get it moving.

Google Chrome Gets a Makeover

Google Chrome has been updated or as Google said "more app-ealing."

The New Tab page has been changed around in this update. You now have two sections. One for your most recent visited pages and one for your apps. This enables you to easily manage your apps and your recent pages.

Personally this update doesn't really affect me. I never use many apps but use the recent pages all the time. The recent pages are very useful when I use Chrome. I have never had much interest in using apps and might in the future.

Overall this update is neat. But it just doesn't affect everyone who uses Chrome.

Here's Google's tour on the new update to Chrome.

Amazon Customer Service Rises to the Top

Amazon's customer service has been booming with amazement.

A customer looses his shipment with USPS and asks Amazons customer support for help. Even though it wasn't Amazon's fault the shipment was lost, they still gave all of the customers money back.

Amazon took full responsibility and kept a loyal customer. Their customer support looks to be strong and worthwhile. Seeing this makes me feel more comfortable when buying from Amazon. I'm glad to know they at least care about their customers.

Here is the conversation the customer had with Amazon Support.

I have never seen any other customer support that was this helpful. I'm glad to see that there are some companies that really care for their customers.

Can Minecraft Keep up it's Sales?

Minecraft has had great sales but you must think of the future. Will Minecraft really be able to continue selling the way it is now?

Updates seem to be the only main way to keep players interested. You can only play a game for so long until it gets boring. If no one plays it no new customers will hear about it.

The problem is Minecraft can't keep on having updates. They don't intend to do that.

Minecraft will just be like any other game. It becomes very popular and then gets old.

How do you think Minecraft will do?

Apple's iPad Crumbles to 67 Percent Dominance

The iPad has lost it's dominance recently. Originally having 96 percent dominance has gone to a measly 67 percent. Android tablets rose to 27 percent from this drop.

On top of this Amazon's tablet will be coming out November 15th which will further crush Apple's control in the tablet market.

Apple started the tablet market but they will not continue it. Other companies are creating better tablets compared to the iPad.

I hope Apple realizes their future and makes the most out of it while they have the advantage.

Botnets - The Future of Internet Criminal Activity

Techi recently posted a new article about botnets. Internet Criminal Activity has dropped 10 percent, but botnets that hijacked computers rose 600 percent. So technically it got worse. The criminal activity has just gone incognito.

A new form of Internet Criminal Activity has risen. But you just never see it coming!

I question why these tactics are being used. I assume the old method of being noticed when sending out viruses etc is long gone. A better tactic is to stay hidden and strike when you have the power to do so. Or to stay hidden and do your work without being known.

I have been fairly good about keeping my computer safe. Basic routines like running a scan every week or so, updating software and Windows. Would rather be free then become a "zombie machine." I recommend doing the same. You don't want to be attacked.

Hope things don't get worse!

Quantum Levitation - Amazing

The Association of Science-Technology Centers (ASTC) has created this neat video displaying quantum levitation.

They are able to quantum lock this cold object covered in liquid nitrogen.

You should definitely check this out! It is amazing to see. Do you think it can be used in the future?

The Kindle Fire - Will it beat the iPad?

Kindle fire, the new Amazon tablet will be coming out November 15th 2011. The Kindle Fire will only cost $199 compared to the iPad which is $519.

Kindle Fire will have 19 million movies, songs, apps, magazines, and books. The Kindle Fire has pretty much everything the iPad has except a camera and a microphone. The price difference is very important. Consumers are always looking for the best deal and the Kindle Fire has that compared to any other tablet.

This tablet looks very appealing to buy and I might just consider it. The price is what really gets me. Saving $300 is something I rather do then buying an iPad. Price is a very important thing to consider when selling a product. The Kindle Fire also has millions of movies, songs, and other content which I can use. No one will ever use all of that content but you have many things to choose from.

If you are looking to save money I would look into the Kindle Fire. It might just be what you are looking for.

Mike Lazaridis Apologizes for Blackberry Outages

Mike Lazaridis has recently apologized for the outages causing Blackberry to be down. He claims they are working hard on fixing the outages.

Supposedly this issue isn't fully resolved. He states they are watching their systems carefully. Do you think this is all true?

Blackberry might be hoping that their customers are relieved that the issue is over but that doesn't mean they will stay. I expect many Blackberry customers to leave Blackberry and find another phone that fits their needs. Blackberry will have to work very hard to get to where they used to be. I hope they understand their careless mistake and make the future of Blackberry better.

Blackberry Outages Hit Worldwide

RIM, creator of Blackberry has been having outages all around the world recently. RIM hasn't released any reason to the outages and remains a mystery.

RIM needs to get these outages fixed immediately. But it just keeps affecting more and more users. Blackberry being a very important product for them needs to be maintained! The users can't just wait all happily and totally forget about this outage. I expect Blackberry to loose many customers due to this.

What amazes me is I see new news about these outages commonly. It's as if RIM doesn't even know what they are doing. They should be all over the problem and get right on it ASAP. Wonder how long it will take till Blackberry outages are fixed.

Sony Suspends 93 000 PSN Accounts

Sony has recently suspended 93 000 PSN accounts from its network. Their reason was a "large amount of unauthorized login attempts."

Sony says that credit card information for the suspended accounts is not at risk.

What has happened Sony? You need to get yourself together. Being hacked in May and now this? 93 000 accounts had to be shut down. Doesn't that tell you something?

I think Sony needs to get themselves together. They could be such a better company if they boosted their security. Security is so important in technology businesses! I get the feeling Xbox will take over the console market due to Sony's "problems". Now I don't have any problems with this because I am a Xbox user but it's sad to see Sony end up like this.

Minecraft Officially comes out for Android

Minecraft is now out for Android! You can now play Minecraft on-the-go where ever you are.

If you are a fan of Minecraft and have an Android you are in luck. You can play Minecraft on your Android.

The iOS version is said to come out soon. There are no dates yet but it will be coming out eventually.

For what I see there is one major drawback with Minecraft being on a mobile device. A mobile device is small and hard to play such a game. When you play Minecraft you want a large screen to work with. To me it looks cramped and had to work with. Your fingers will also be in the way of your view. I would prefer a nice monitor with a mouse and keyboard. But if you have an Android make sure to try it out. It might end up being very fun!

Chrome is Taking Down Firefox

As Chrome increases it's control of the browser market, Firefox slowly fades away. Will Chrome take the lead soon?
