Over 3 Million Kindle Tablets Sold - Amazon Announces

Amazon announced that they have sold over 3 million Kindle tablets in three weeks.

This includes all of the Kindle tablets and not just the Kindle Fire. Usually Amazon never gives out these numbers.

The reason for giving out only the Kindle tablets information is uncertain, but I think there is a key reason for this. Amazon doesn't want the Kindle Fire to be compared to the iPad with sales. The iPad has sold over 40 million iPads worldwide so comparing to the Kindle Fire which is relatively new would be unfair. It could scare customers causing them to buy the iPad since it has sold much more compared to the Kindle Fire.
